Lucky Numbers, Colours and Days: How They're Actually Determined

Every Kismat report ends with a set of lucky elements, numbers, days, colours and months. These can look like a fun add-on, but each one is derived the same way the rest of your reading is: from your actual chart, not picked at random.

Where the numbers come from

Each of the nine grahas (planets) in Vedic astrology has a traditional numerological association, the Sun with 1, the Moon with 2, Jupiter with 3, Rahu with 4, Mercury with 5, Venus with 6, Ketu with 7, Saturn with 8 and Mars with 9. Your lucky numbers are drawn from the planets currently ruling your dasha and antardasha, combined with your own life path and birthday numbers from numerology.

Where the colours and days come from

Each planet also has a traditional associated colour (the Sun with amber, the Moon with pearl white, Mars with deep red, Mercury with emerald, Jupiter with saffron gold, Venus with ivory rose, Saturn with midnight blue, Rahu with smoke grey, Ketu with ochre) and a ruling day of the week. Your lucky colours and days follow directly from whichever planets govern your current period.

Why they change over time

Because your dasha period changes over the years, your lucky elements aren't fixed for life the way your rashi or nakshatra are, they shift as your ruling planets shift.
