What's the difference between mahadasha and antardasha?+
Your mahadasha is the main planetary period, it can run for years or decades. Each mahadasha is itself divided into 9 antardashas (sub-periods), one for each planet, proportional in length. The antardasha usually explains the finer texture within a broader mahadasha theme.
What if my past year doesn't match at all?+
A dasha period sets a theme, not a guaranteed event, and birth time precision matters a lot here. If your birth time is approximate, your nakshatra (which the whole timeline starts from) could be off, which shifts everything downstream.
