Chaldean numerology is one of the oldest number systems still in use, older than the more commonly seen Pythagorean method, and it works on a simple premise: every letter carries a vibration, expressed as a number from 1 to 8 (the Chaldean system deliberately skips 9, treating it as sacred and not assigned to letters).

How the calculation works

Each letter of your name maps to a number: A, I, J, Q, Y are 1; B, K, R are 2; C, G, L, S are 3; D, M, T are 4; E, H, N, X are 5; U, V, W are 6; O, Z are 7; F, P are 8. Add up the numbers for every letter in your full name, then reduce the total to a single digit (except for the master numbers 11, 22 and 33, which are traditionally left unreduced). That final number is your name number.

Separately, your date of birth reduces to your Mulank (birth number, from your day of birth alone) and your Bhagyank (destiny number, from your full date of birth). These are fixed for life, they don't change, unlike your name number, which changes if you change your name.

What "aligned" means
