How Your Kismat Score Is Actually Calculated
आपका किस्मत स्कोर कैसे बनता है
We get asked this a lot, understandably, since a single score out of 100 can feel like a black box if you don't know what's behind it. So here's the actual methodology, no marketing gloss.
Step 1: your chart
From your birth date, time and place, we calculate the sidereal position of the Moon and Sun at the moment you were born, using standard astronomical formulae adjusted for the Lahiri ayanamsa (the correction Vedic astrology applies to align with the fixed stars rather than the seasons). This gives us your nakshatra, pada and moon sign.
Step 2: your dasha timeline
Your nakshatra determines your starting Vimshottari mahadasha and its balance at birth. From there we build your full dasha and antardasha timeline (see our dasha guide for how this system works), a personal sequence of planetary periods running from birth through roughly 100 years ahead.
Step 3: your numerology
Separately, your full name is run through Chaldean numerology to get your name number and soul number, and your birth date gives your life path number. These add a second, independent layer on top of the astrological timing.
Step 4: combining the layers
Each of the 8 life areas (money, career, love, travel, education, success, wealth, social) has a different natural affinity with each planet, Jupiter leans toward wealth and education, Venus toward love and money, Saturn toward long, slow structural change, and so on. For any point in time, we blend the affinity of your current mahadasha and antardasha lords, weighted toward the more specific antardasha, with a smaller adjustment from your moon sign and numerology numbers.
A small, fixed personal variation (derived from your own nakshatra, not random) is layered in too, so two people in the same dasha period still get distinguishable readings, and a further month-to-month variation keeps a 12-month calendar from reading as "the same area is strongest every single month", which two years of dasha stability would otherwise produce.
Step 5: presenting it clearly
The raw 0–1 values are mapped onto the 0–100 scale you see, and your overall Kismat Score blends your average across all 8 areas with your 3 strongest areas, so someone with a few standout areas scores higher than someone equally flat across the board, which matches how luck usually actually feels: a few things going very well rather than everything being exactly average.
One deliberate product decision: your 3-year forecast is weighted to foreground your nearest strong year rather than a technically-stronger year decades away, because a reading about a peak 15 years from now isn't useful for decisions you're making today. If your chart does show a bigger peak further out, it's still noted as a bonus in your full report, just not the headline.
Every calculation is deterministic, run the same birth details through it twice and you get the same result both times. Nothing is randomized per visit.
